The effect of potium overdose on resting potential and AP?

Medical orders get mixed up and a man is accidentaly given potium inhanced iv solution. His resting potential is normal before the iv What will happen to his resting membrane potential and his neurons ability to generate AP? Please help! I'm studying for an a&p final and I am not getting this question figured out.
