Why is it that people who may be hesitant to accept scientific principles are presumed to be anti-science?

This is the problem with atheist. We religious people take science as knowledge of belief. We may or may not believe some of it as a choice. Science is knowledge and belongs to everybody. I am a Muslim and science is a subject I like to learn very much. But to believe is an option I reserved and not all is taken as a faith of my belief.
